Mitchell, South Dakota Speed Traps
Bypass 37 and W 15th Ave.
A cop in the dodge police interceptor (v8 most likely) sits in the median right after the turn from the 4 way the turn itself is a 50 then it’s a 45 right where he sits he has all lights off and his vehicle is black so he hides really really well. He was there for sure at 1:30 am Saturday night.
Sanborn going sw two cops park on the right side.
Thry like to poke out around 11pm I saw them last night again at 11:30pm last night they usually sit there and speed gun both ways. The speed limit changes from a 30 to 35 right before they are see able so they usually get speeders there.
North on Hwy 37 on hill
When going north out of town on Hwy 37, just past the bypass, he was sitting in the “no parking” area on the hill headed north. Watching cars coming out of the 35 going in to the 45 (the sign is about 3 tenths away) picks you off, then offers a reduced speed sitation if you pay instead of going to traffic court. I was driving a new 2013 Kia and he said I was doing 52 in the 35, I had seen the sign for 45 and was doing 45-48, definitely not over 50. I think his gun is off, I checked my speed using the mile marker test several times later that morning and 1 mile was 60 seconds at 60 miles per hour.
I plan on going to court,
BURR st.
