30th Street near State Highway K-61
Very poorly marked school zone–no large flashing double yellow lights as in neighboring towns. The signs are the same size as no parking signs—on a 45 mph street.
When I told the officer I didn’t even know I was in a school zone he laughed, and said—yea thats what a lot of people tell me—my boss tells me to come down here and write these tickets and that’s what I Do! The ticket was $100.00 for 32mph in a 20mph school zone

I drive this area every day. The signs are clear and the warning lights blink at the correct time. There are two schools in the area, on north of 30th and one south of 30th within 2 or 3 blocks of each other. Any one who says this is a speed trap is nuts. I drive a school bus through this area and see most people slow down, but usually drive 5 to 10 miles over the school zone speed. That tells me that they do see the signs, but choose to put children in danger. If most people slow down, then how can this be called a speed trap. That's crazy.
