I live in Arkansas, but previously lived in this area for 9 years. I am well aware of the speed trap. I was recently traveling through here and had my cruise control set on 65, which was the speed limit. As I was topping the hill, I was passed on both sides (I was in the center lane) by other vehicles. I immediately saw the police cruiser put his lights on and pull out. I pulled to the left lane so as not to be in his way. He pulled behind me. I pulled right to get out of his way and he stayed right behind me. I pulled to the shoulder in order to not impede him and he pulled in behind me. I couldn't believe I was his target. He asked if I knew why he stopped my and I said no. He told me he clocked me doing 74 in a 65. Before I could stop myself, I said, No sir, you must have gotten someone else, because I had my cruise control set on 65. He told me that it was me. I honestly thing he stopped me because I had out of state tags. When I started trying to take care of the ticket, I realized you could not read anything on the front except what was printed and my signature. Nothing he put on there was legible. There was also no contact number printed on the ticket. Just an address to mail my payment (which I had no idea how much it was). I finally found a number and called. They said because I was out of state there was no defensive driving allowed, just pay the fine and if I don't get another ticket there within 30 days, it wouldn't go on my driving record. The whole deal was fishy!
