Abernathy Road, between Roswell Rd and Johnson Ferry

This stretch is very flat and wide, with the posted speed limit a ridiculous 35 mph. I got a ticket (my first in over 20 years) recently and they charged nearly as much as the law allows. (I paid $235 for going 54 mph). I deliberately do not shop in Sandy Springs because of these money-grubbing speed traps, and they are developing quite a rep for them.

Comments:
60 in a 35. I was on my way to work and overtook an older car with bad exhaust emissions because I didn't want to breathe un-catalyzed emissions for several miles. Anyways... This stretch is particularly bad because it's a very straight section of divided four-lane highway with excellent visibility - even for a four lane highway. On the weekends and on some evenings, there are people in the park nearby (accounting for the low speed limit), but any other time, there are zero people there, making a seemingly-55 zone tortuous. The blue-light special can be found at the park's parking lot near Brandon Mill Rd. If it's too much, take Riverside; more curves to keep it interesting. Same speed limit and patrol, but at least the speed limit isn't as infuriating.
