Argyle Forest Boulevard near Youngerman Circle

Now that Argyle Forest Blvd has been widened, speeds have increased drastically while the limits have actually been lowered. The limit is no longer 45 mph all the way down the Blvd, at some places it is 40 and it even hits 35. JSO has used unmarked Impalas and motorcycles to enforce the speed limit in the stretch between Youngerman Circle and Blanding Blvd. Sometimes they are closer to Blanding, favoring a setup based in the median near the turn to get into Publix, Longhorn’s, etc, and other times they shoot from closer down to Youngerman. Occasionally they can even be seen down past Rampart right near the small historic bridge. I have never seen them set up after Wesport Rd, however.

Lets just this: Speed Traps are only Speed Traps when you get pulled over for breaking the speed limit. I've only heard of a few times where any agency has ticketed for 2-3 mph over the posted speed. Normally in school zones and it should be that way. Nobody wants thier child being run over, and kid like to plan as they walk home from school. That's why they are kids, young and don't pay attention to on coming traffic. So we have to have speed zones close to schools. But I've never been pulled over for running just over the speed limit. I've had several over the years for doing 10-15 over the speed limit. I have tickets in every state up the east coast far as NY. I learned the hard way. I was young, and paid lots of fines. A Georgia state trooper oncetold me as I was 80 on Interstate 20 when the speed was 55mph. Mid 1980's, and he was just about to let me off until he seen my 3 year old daughter in her car seat. Then commenced to chew me out, and write me the ticket for the full 80mph. I can remember him saying: It's fine if I want to drive over the speed limit and kill myself, but to kill my daughter would be murdering her. I've been thinking about that now for 26 years, she's now 29.
