Aviation Boulevard near RDU Causeway between I-40 and I-540
We all know that airport speed enforcement is strict, but be careful on the CAUSEWAY over the lake when approaching the RDU Airport on Aviation from I-540. The exit ramp from 540 angles steeply down with no stops coming from 540. You will find yourself traveling at 65mph or hgher without even thinking about it, and PD/Sheriff/HP (NOT the Airport Police) will nail you coming off of the ramp (Speed Limit drops to 55 at bottom of the ramp/under the overpass). PD informed me of a 75 in a 55 (not likely), pled down to 64mph with defective speedometer. Fine = $10. Court Fees = $100. Result = Taxed (!) for being unobservant of my ‘true’ speed. Lesson learned.
