Bayview Avenue near Lawrence Avenue

Toronto, OntarioSep 25, 20085 Comments

LIDAR is used on the Bridge between Cresent School and the exit to Lawrence Ave. This is common becuase it is VERY easy to speed because it is sloped downhill. Any time of day, take an extra 10 seconds out of your day to prevent yourself from getting a speeding ticket.

Comments:
Actually, the radar may be at any of the intersections on the grade, from the top of the slope on down. All of the cross streets provide good cover. Sneakiest I've seen was one at the halfway intersection, then another around the curve in front of the school. The second guy was doing big business.

This speed trap is set up very frequently. Southbound, the police hide just before Lawrence Ave E. Northbound, the police actually park their vehicles behind trees on the grass in front of Crescent School, although this is usually in the spring and summer when the leaves are on the trees. It is best to abide by the speed limit on the Bayview bridge no matter which way you go. There is sometimes another speed trap (either direction) on Bayview further south around the CNIB (just passed Sunnybrook Hospital)

The police tuck in at Toronto French School when going s/b on Bayview. A very regular location...

yes, I got nabbed here last summer... the cop was parked in the Toronto French School Parking lot... I turned off Post Road and headed south on Bayview to Lawrence. The right lane just before the curve headed for the bridge was closed I sped up to enter the left lane before I crested the corner and BAM! as I crested the corner there he was awaiting me on the bridge!!! ughhhh!

Toronto French School has not given permission for the officers to use their (private) property for ticketing purposes. I have spoken several times to officers about it myself (I work at the school). Can they give tickets by trespassing themselves?
