Travelling South on the Garden State Parkway, around exit 117, you’ll see ALL the locals slow down to an even 55. Why is this you ask? As you speed down the parkway, trying to make the trip from Brooklyn to Seaside in record time, you see the lights of the 5-0. The State Troopers hide in one of several tree lined medians designed as SPEED TRAPS. You can NOT see the squad car until you are RIGHT on it. Enforcement is high, largely because most people slow down when they reach this strech of the parkway, so the speeder really stands out. Your best bet is to S L O W down between exits 117 & 114. Once you reach the metal medians on the parkway, you’re in the clear. BE ADVISED – The EXPRESS Lane on the GSP is patrolled ALOT more often than the local lanes.
