Both directions North and South along this roadway from the base of the Throggs Neck bridge (40mph Zone)which is heavily enforced to the termination of the roadway at Hillside Ave. Both Radar and Laser is utilized, from positions behind overpass areas and trees along side the roadway and positions on the entrance ramps. As many as (3) marked and unmarked Highway Patrol Units work this stretch of roadway both a.m. shift and p.m. shiFort A minimum of 20 years of enforcement here has not changed the speed of vehicles, just continues to produce revenue. I know this as to be true as a previous H.P. Officer and accident Investigation Officer. Accidents have not declined nor has the speeds of vehicles utilizing this roadway. In fact the only "Official", justification for enforcement is to "enforce this roadway more vigorously".
