FM 407 near Interstate 35
A North Lake police car hides in the Equestrian center entrance off of FM 407 2 miles west of Interstate. There is not much in North Lake, so this is a good way to pad the city budget.

The city of North Lake, just North of Fort Worth, is a typical small town speed trap. This so-called “police” agency has a small strip of I-35 they use as a ticket-mill. They claim they are stopping and charging people in Denton County, but they will setup their traps in any surrounding county. Be wary; be very wary when driving near this city. I was in a car with 3 others and the officer clearly wrote a ticket to the driver for about 10 miles over what the driver was actually driving. The driver asked to see the radar or speed indicator and the officer refused. I guess it was a slow day and they needed more revenue ... it's wrong!
North Lake will write false tickets and lie in court and with the judge standing by their side. They will falsely and illegaly search your vehicle. Young drivers are a main target. Best advice is to exit vehicle when asked to do so and LOCK IT while exiting and decline the permision to search your vehicle. They also like to play the DWI lotto making up excuses to stop you.
I live in North Lake and have personaly experienced this first hand.
The prosecutor Is a judge from a nearby town. Trust me when I say their is no FAIR court in North Lake. Their income is 90% traffic tickets. They lost the basic duty of law enforcement. TO PROTECT AND SERVE.
Now North Lake has gone to " no front plate" I have owned my car for 10 years. In that time, I have put 245,000 miles on it, and have not been stopped in it once for no front plate. In the last 10 days I have gotten stopped twice in the same small town of North lake. Once, along a streach of road that has less than a mile in the city limit. What a racket. Now the town of 900 people has eight full time police officers. Really!!!! Looks like a racket to me.
