This is not a speed trap....Prairie City has abolished their police department and are being covered by the county sheriff's office. They are undermanned and speed enforcement doesn't seem to be a big priority. Drive reasonably and they'll leave you alone.

This speed trap has not existed for at least 10 years. The previous comment is correct. If you get a speeding ticket in Prairie City you will have had the unfortunate luck to have been on the street at the same time as the monthly passing of a State Patrolman or a sheriff's deputy. But do watch out for ATV's. The city has an ordinance that permits them on streets in the city as long as they are manned by licenced drivers

The state patrol would be the same as in John Day he profiles out of state vehicles, lyes, and is all about himself he is actually a prick!!!
