This is total truth. I work in a building with a clear view of this corner. Livonia cops line up 2 or 3 deep and spend their days doing nothing but writing tickets for anything they can. Mostly "Failing to yield to oncoming traffic" - which is a judgement call - by the alleged 'spotter'. Try to fight it - and the judge won't even look you in the eye. To make things worse - the Livonia cops have no problem breaking rules and driving recklessly - trying to pull you over. They like to do things like back up freeway entrance ramps, do U-turns on the ramps....and almost cause accidents making illegal left turns from the right lane in this same busy intersection that they prey over. It's departments like this that give real cops a bad name.
