Highway 287 (Third Street) from I-80 to the Port of Entry
Southbound on 287, leaving town and driving over the railroad overpass, speed limit is 45, and does not increase to 55 until you get to the bottom of the hill. The path looks wide open, and most drivers naturally start speeding up as they drive down the hill. WHP officers write tickets all day long at the bottom of the hill.
Northbound, in this same section, speed limits are dropping quickly as you approach town. Most drivers don’t yet sense that they are entering the town, so they keep driving fast. WHP writes tickets all day long here too.
