Hintz Road near Arlington Heights Road
This speed trap runs on Hintz Rd. from the intersection of Rand Rd. (Rt 12) to Arlington Heights Rd. then continuing on up to Schoenbeck Rd. The first portion of this trap between Rand Rd. and Arlington Heights Rd. is a residential neighborhood with a posted limit of 25 mph. I will frequently see the cops (normal marked car or motorcyle) hiding on the side streets off of Hintz about 15-20 yards back, in particular at the streets with stop signs. They’re primarily looking for vehicles that are either speeding or don’t come to a complete stop at the stop sign.
The second portion of this trap is between Arlington Heights Rd. and Schoenbeck Rd. The posted limit either increases from 25 to 35 mph if you’re going east or decreases from 40 to 35 mph if you’re going west. I’ve observed both normal marked cars and motorcyles in this portion as well. In particular, on the north side of Hintz, well hidden, towards the back of a church parking lot. Also, when the motorcycle cop is hiding on the side streets on the south side of Hintz, he tends to pick and choose which vehicles he wants to monitor with his radar.
