Recently the City of Rowlett purchased the Elgin B. Robertson Park from the City of Dallas. The park is a peninsula of land extending into Lake Ray Hubbard and I-30 crosses from Rockwall on one side to Dallas on the other. With the purchase of the park, Rowlett now has access to a short segment of I-30 where since the purchase of the property in the middle of March 2015, Rowlett Police are constantly stationed at I-30 and Dalrock Rd. looking for speeders. There has been a police presence at all times (for the past few weeks) including morning and evening rush hour when traffic is moving well below the posted speed limit.
