Beware when heading north on I-405 just past the 522 interchange for two hard to see motorcycle cops off on the center mediun; (around the NE 195th Ave). This is where the freeway opens up and you want to go fast after coming out of the 522 interchange tangle. Some times they are well north of NE 195th St near the next corner.
Many are aware of this ongoing trap, so if a lot of people slow down around you keep you cool until well towards SR 527. Lidar is used in WA, but I do not know what they are using. The govener is has a big speeding campain going on, State web sites will tell you where they are "trying to reduce excess accidents" and they name general areas. In this case they say I-405 & SR 527, but I have seen much more activity around SR 522/NE 195th St on my counter-commute (North in the morning; etc.).
