Interstate I-5 southbound near US Highway 99E to I-5 south onramp
Tigard and State patrol officers are running a speed trap on I-5 south from the 99E to I-5 south onramp using laser and possibly radar aiming back up the hill. I have seen them there every weekend night for the past 5 weeks. Down the road less than 1/2 mile just past the Haines st offramp/onramp between Landmark Ford and the Kruse way/217 offramp another patrol car sits with their lights completely off. Not sure if they are working together but I have seen both have drivers pulled at the same time.

This is not the only spot there. They site on the SB I-5 on ramp from Hwy 217 pointing the laser north at SB I-5 traffic. Rush hour, at night you name it. Rush hour is a joke, all they do is slow traffic on 217 causing backups. They rarely catch anyone at rush hour, just pisses me off how it slows traffic and damn near causes accidents because of it.

Correction: It is 99Westbound (not East) - to I-5 south onramp
The reason this is such a sure fire speed trap is because this is at the top of a hill, and a long straight stretch of freeway. Gravity increases your speed naturally.
I drove this for 40 years and found myself always speeding on this stretch of freeway.
