Travelling northbound from Belmar to Avon-by-the-Sea on Route 71 (Main Street) as you cross the draw bridge over the Shark River into Avon-by-the-Sea, police are often parked in front of the soccer field facing the the bridge. They are waiting for anything going over the posted limit. They’ll stop you if you’re even minimally over the 35mph speed limit, and you’ll not escape with a warning.
