MO Highway 291
First let me say I respect the law enforcement officers who work hard, take their job seriously and have respect for people. I was stopped for 66mph (55mph road), the officer was polite and when he asked me if I had a justified reason for the speed, honestly I said I did not. I was speeding, I didn’t realize it with the kids in the back seat fussing and wanting to just get home. I didn’t get a ticket but a warning to slow down. Did they do that because I was honest about my speed, sincere about owning my error? Basically I was speeding, I got stopped and I should have. I didn’t see the sign, but the next day I did…big one too, 2 foot wide by 3 foot tall and reflective, more than one telling me the speed limit was 55 (not 66). Face it, if your speeding and get caught you were warned. Now when I drive through I DO watch my speed, I also watch to see where the officer is, I’m more alert and I think because of that I’m a safer driver.
