For several miles on Hwy 9, west of Lockhart, the speed limit is low when you would expect it to be 55. The cops like to sit at the junction of 9 & 49, where they have a good place to hide, and they can catch speeders on either road, just as the two roads come together to cross the bridge at Lockhart. They are not always therebut often enough to make it worthwhile to be vigilant.
