One block east of Aurora Mall on Exposition
On Exposition Avenue one block east of the Aurora Mall, the road climbs up a bit of a hill, peaking right in between the traffic signals at Exposition & Sable and Exposition & Chambers. Traffic travelling east on Exposition here face a much steeper road grade (probably exceeding 6%) once they hit the top of that hill, and two policemen love to camp out right at the bottom of it to nail hapless drivers.
Just about everyone who lives here tries to warn drivers by flashing their headlights driving the opposite direction, but this one’s impossible to see until you’ve already been caught. We’ve not been caught by this trap, but have seen far too many people get nailed. Also note these cops will follow anyone in the left lane (a left-turn and straight through lane; the right lane is right-turn only) at Exposition & Chambers who doesn’t have a turn signal on, even if they’re driving straight. They ticket anyone who turns without a signal at this intersection. Because they always work in pairs, one can afford to abandon the speed trap long enough to ticket drivers for turn signal violations. They’re a bit devious here; watch yourselves, folks!
