Route 422 east or west bound in Womelsdorf Borough
A small portion of Route 422 lies within Womelsdorf Borough and the borough police balance the borough budget catching speeders on this road. Route 422 widens to four lanes in this area and the speed limit is 50 MPH. It is the only passing zone for many miles and your only chance to get around the numerous slow moving trucks. The worst direction is east bound as you crest a small hill and the road curves to the right. The police sit on Water Street with a timing device and they have you before you can even see them.
