Route 64 west of LaFox
Westbound traffic on Rt 64 is 55 mph until you cross LaFox. The speed limit immediately drops to 35 mph. Campton Hill’s PD sits on the other side of the reduced speed limit sign and welcomes out of town folks with tickets as there is no way to react quickly enough to reduce speed if you make the traffic light to drop 20 mph in about 100′.

Most people do not know this but you have 500' after the speed limit sign to slow down.
The speed limits drops to 45 MPH a few hundred yards before LaFox Road and then drops to 35 MPH for the residential section along Rt 64. The is ample time to reduce speed and considering that the speed reductions correlate with business and then residential areas it should be instinct to slow down regardless. Just a few hundred feet West of LaFox the bike trail attracts foot and bicycle traffic that crosses Rt.64 to get to businesses (McDonald's, Dairy Queen, Subway etc.).
