Police sit on south side toward bottom (closer to Fleischmanns) OR on north side (closer to top).

If you are East-bound (coming from Arkville/Margaretville) you are slightly downhill and in a slight curve. Drivers may see the hill ahead and try to get a little speed to help getting up the hill.

Drivers coming West bound have crested the hill at Highmount (Belleayre ski center) and as gravity is helping them down the hill (and they’ve forgotten to take their foot off the gas) they are ticketed.
