Rt 287 thru ctr of village oClaude, Pop 1293
East bound, going thru small village, speed limit goes down to 30 for several blocks, then one small sign for 40 mph (which is not visable if you’re in the middle lane with another vehicle on yr right)..that 40 zone only goes one or two blocks (I’d say 500′ +-), then sign for 50 mph for next approx 1500 ‘, then sign for 70 mph (the Texas limit for most cars, most highways)..Officer is in a truck-like vehicle, not in uniform, and does not manually sign the ticket, nor will he discuss it or answer any question.

Yes, I was stopped there in Clyde, TX...details are exactly as shown in the Above comments...We had an Out-of-State license...all other traffic in view seemed to be local ..we were moving right WITH the traffic...We were picked, I'm sure, because we were obviously not likely to return to Clyde a few weeks later to plead not-guilty...Fine was about 300 Bucks..Paid by mail...Real unfair BUMMER..
