Seneca Street near State Route 5
Seneca St. in Chittenango is a convenient short-cut along state route 5. For the past 25 years, local authorities have installed a stop sign midway on this street which has as its only goal to catch motorists who do a rolling stop. There is no cross-road. Simply a stop light on a very quiet, but short-cut, street. Local police have two goals: (a) to train rookies on how to stop "traffic violators; and (b) to raise revenues for a very economically depressed small town.
Beware when driving through Chittenango, NY (east of Syracuse)! This village aims to pick your pocket, not welcome you.
