I was caught in this speed trap on Memorial Day weekend, along with dozens of others, accused of doing 80 mph in that passing lane by a cop coming the opposite direction on a motorcycle. Told him I've never gone 80 in my life, normally 65 max even on freeways. No moving violations in decades made no difference. 80 made for a nice fat fine of $279. I've been using Rt 60 between Vero Beach and Lakeland for years, shopping and dining along the way. But from now on I will bypass Lake Wales and Bartow and use the freeways instead. It's a shame those towns choose to make money on people passing through by using these well-organized speed traps.
