Colfax, WA has a long-standing reputation for varying speed limits and police waiting. It has a to be a prime income source. Once they even gave a speeding ticket to an ambulance on a legitimate run…and the driver was unable to get out of the ticket. It’s the most notorious area in SE Washington. Abrupt speed changes and unrealistic speed limits are on all entries into town and at expected places. It’s hard to get through town without slipping over the limit.
