The speed through the tiny community of Blooming Grove is 40 mph. As a westbound driver leaves town he passes the FM 55 crossing and sees a 55 mph sign about half a block ahead. The local cop has a favorite spot on a side street that he swings out of to nab normal law-abiding drivers who make the mistake of accelerating up from 40 mph because they can see the 55 limit posted right in front of them. After ticketing me, the policeman returned to the same location to wait for his next customer.
