I recently received a $394 ticket in this speed trap in a 15mph school zone in Waldo, They are just scammers. I tried to pay it yesterday and they want an $18 "convenience" fee for paying with a credit card. I question the whole legality of these school zones because a flashing yellow light in most jurisdictions is an advisory light, not a regulatory one. That is why we have yellow lights warning of dangerous bends or ramps and construction sites. Even the school buses in Florida display yellow lights before the red lights. Also traffic signals show yellow before red. I noticed on my return jorney through this area that all school zone lights were extinguished except the 301 to 24 sign. What a scam!

My wife got a $125.00 ticket on US301 north of Waldo. She convinced me she didn't do it. I went back and took a lot of pictures to help her remember what happened. She went to court. She is not a "fabricator" of stories. She said the officer told his story, but it was fabricated to CHA. Tip: If you get a ticket in Waldo and want to fight it, get a local attorney. Every person who had an attorney received a not guilty verdict.
