I used to work as a reporter in Portage. Columbia County Sheriff’s deputies say they field a lot of complaints from businesses and residents in the area, but I can’t see how or who from…there’s hardly anything out there. The speed limit drops to 45 three miles prior to entering the city proper, and much of that area is four lane highway. It’s a ridiculous speed limit, and they enforce it regularly.

I’ve been zinged there myself.
