State Highway 5A near State Route 69
1) Several times a year (4-6) a large roadblock is set up in both directions at the north end of 5A (before it merges with 69). Multiple police agencies (NYS, Oneida County Sheriff, plus Yorkville and Whitestown town cops) set up with many police cars, tow trucks, etc. and check for stickers, seatbelts, etc. Every hour or so some poor sap gets his car towed.
2) Besides the above, a speed trap is set up several more times. Heading north on 5A through Yorkville, NY, the highway turns easterly and becomes divided briefly. Police vehicle hides in bushes in the median (on your left). Vehicle cannot target traffic in other direction due to road elevation. Speed limit is 40MPH, yet traffic regulary goes 55 there.
