State Highway 76 near 2/10ths mile past
Highway 76 is posted at 55mph. It is the main highway for tourist visiting the North Georgia mountain area. I was returning to my Greenville, SC home.
I came upon two signs posted on the same post. The top one read "45 mph speed limit". The one posted directly below read "Speed Zone Ahead." I started to brake, but was clocked by radar 2/10th of a mile later. (I went back and measured)
There were three to four state police cars covering this one mile strip of road and I counted seven cars being ticketed during my 15 minute stay in the area.
I am a senior, retired driver. My handicapped wife was with me. My ticket was for $180.00
