State Hwy. 131 at Ann Street

Bladenboro, North CarolinaDec 27, 20091 Comments

Going north out of Bladenboro, the city speed limit changes from 20 mph to 35 mph as you leave the downtown. There is a brief period in which it appears that you can accelerate to 35 mph or more but actually you are still in the 20 mph zone. The policeman hides in a curve where he can record your speed as you begin to accelerate, but you cannot readily observe him in a white car sitting on the shoulder, facing you, in an area of homes, businesses, mailboxes, etc. This is a popular tourist shortcut to and from Myrtle Beach, SC.
