This Cornwall cop must have been sweating his monthly quota (today is July 30th, 2008). He was hiding about 20 feet away from WB Rt. 94 on a lawn on a private property, just past Shady Lane, with his cruiser’s nose pointing at the EB traffic. Even my V1 did not alert, as I believe he shot at individual cars as they approached.

I only saw him just in time because I caught the glinting reflection off of the green decals on the side of his cruiser. I braked before passing him and used E-brake after passing. My V1 had a 2-second full blast, as he shot at me from behind. Then it went silent. It did not sound like POP, more like a conventional K with instant-on feature.

I went back out after dropping off perishable grocery from Hannaford and tried to test out the cop, but he was already gone. Hopefully he lost interest at the spot; not because some pour hapless soul had been caught.

That one was SO close. Gotta use visual, even at night, instead of solely relying on the V1. Lesson learned.
