Tega Cay Drive near Tega Cay City Limits

Anywhere within the city limits of Tega Cay. Local police department will use speed traps on any road at any time. Constant enforcement, no warnings. Their favorite tactic is to illegally park in the left turn lanes on Tega Cay Drive and use 2-way radar, stopping cars as they round curves or come over hills.

Comments:
Speaking as a Retired Law Enforcement profesional...I would have to say after reading the number and type of traffic enforcement issues in Tega Cay, that their is a Culture administrating the department that has lost sight of why we have Law enforcement. Traffic enforcement is meant to enhance safety. I would posit any officer that stops a vehicle and tickets said vehicle for a 2 mph violation is actually endangering public safety. I say this because we enforce speeding laws to maintain safe operating speeds in the community. To pull over a vehicle for 2mph over(My gosh, speedometers can and usually are off by that amount), turning on the lights causing lane changes and obstructing lanes and free travel of traffic for basically a non event creates distraction and more danger to the public than it helps. Secondly, This over zealous micro enforcement will anger and turn the public perception of the police in a negative direction. The Chief of the Tega Cay Police is doing a disservice to his community by encouraging this type of gotcha Law enforcement.
