U.S. Hwy. 60
Town annexed the 3 miles of the highway into it and immediately after their council meeting, began writing tickets. Cop usually parks on Highway 60’s shoulder to catch people coming around a corner. The town itself is about a half-mile north of the town and nothing is on the highway here, and it has apparently become a pretty good revenue source for the town. It took almost a year for city limit signs to go up, despite a state law requiring such signs to be posted in order for the town to enforce the speed limit.
The town tries to avoid reporting the tickets to the state, as a state law requires most of the proceeds of speeding tickets to go to the state to crackdown on speed traps.
