As you cross the bridge on US 1 at the north end of town, county police are parked in a lot on the left side of the road at the light at the end of the bridge. Allegedly, they are aiming radar at cars as they cross the bridge. The bridge is .3 mile long with traffic lights at both ends. How anyone can truthfully claim that they know which car broke the beam when it’s dark and the car is possibly a quarter mile away is beyond my comprehension. Also, I said allegedly because as I was crossing the bridge, my radar detector did not go off. Only as I approached the stoplight at the end of the bridge and in front of the 2 police cars, did my radar detector give me a K-band alert. The 35 mph speed limit seems unrealistic given that there is real limited access to the highway at this point � it�s a bridge.
