Bensalem PD conducts speed traps on a regular basis on the southbound side of Rt 1 right at the Street Rd (Rt 132) exit. They have a clock car sit in the parking lot to the scale house and have chase cars further down (usually by Roosevelt Cemetery). The clock car uses VASCAR to time you, then calls the time and vehicle description to the chase cars over the radio). You can see where they do the clocking, because VASCAR requires white lines painted across the road about 100 or 200 feet apart. Local police in PA are not allowed to use radar. They usually only go after the big money, only stopping the people doing over about 75 (the speed limit is 55). Slow down when you get to Street Rd.!
