US Highway 30 near Cicero Avenue
Matteson is one of those South suburbs that you don’t want to underestimate in traffic enforcement. At the intersection of Lincoln Highway and Cicero, do not be surprised to see Matteson’s finest hiding in the parking lots of the strip malls on either side of Rte. 30. While dining at the restaurants in the area, I would see Matteson Police tear off after speeders at least 5-6 times.
But there are other areas that you need to pay attention in as well. Around the Auto Mall, cops will patrol that area and may sit to the side to nail motorists. East of Cicero, you are liable to see the Matteson cops in the strip malls or even gas station parking lots. They will change up in an attempt to throw motorists.
Also, pay attention east of Crawford Avenue. There are two places to hide on the north side of the street and I have seen them and Olympia Fields. Also, pay attention around the Metra Station on Lincoln Highway because the cops are liable to use the parking lots or any vacant lot to radar motorists.
