US Highway 40 near East of #10 North-South portion

I’m not sure about "state & US hwy." designations. I’m refering to the part of Hwy. #40 (6th St.) East of Hwy. #10. & West of Wakarusa Rd.. It’s a brand new "4-lane" with an ‘island’ in the middle throughout, with excellent visibility and No businesses on either side! The posted limit (new Non-construction signs) has been 40mph, Way below what’d still be safe. 3 yrs ago it was a much narrower 2-lane w. a posted speed limit of 55mph! Due to a lot of complaints (good!) and ‘too many speeding tickets’, the posted speed will (or has just been) be raised to 45mph (yet to be posted). This is a bit lower than what would still be safe for such a road.

Comments:
Police nor citys control speed limit on state highways. KDOT set the speed limit. Just to educate you this is how they set the speed limit. They KDOT sit in the area running radar. They check speed on certain number of cars and then they average there speed and thats the posted speed limit.

KDOT needs to reevaluate the speed limit on this section of road.
