Westmeadow Drive near Eastmeadow Drive
The police are very good at waiting at the intersection of Westmeadow Drive and Eastmeadow Drive on the southern part of town (merely seconds away from the Fort Carson gate #3) to pull over speeders. Many times there is a team of officers posted at this intersection in various locations where they can go undetected (like on the side of a car or behind the stucco fences of the residents’ homes).
The police either wait near the stop sign (facing south) in a motorcycle OR they wait in the parking lot of the adjacent apartment complex (The Village at Westmeadow), where they pretend to be a "regular" car.
I regularly watch them make their moves (every morning between 9am and 3pm) from my window, especially on the last few days of the month. They make sure to maximize their monthly quota thanks to this intersection and the unsuspecting drivers.
We are probably easy prey for them because many people simply speed down the street and then remember that there is a stop sign in the middle of the road but by that time it’s too late……there are a mob of cops flashing their lights at you.
You’ve been warned! Especially all you Fort Carson soldiers who try to rush on Post in the mornings for formation!
