Wythe Creek Road
On many early mornings, southbound traffic on Wythe Creek Road is monitored by a police car with a radar. It is usually positioned in the dentist’s office parking lot or in one of the adjacent parking lots prior to the 40 mile per hour speed limit sign.

The recognized "Speed Trap" if there is such a thing would be you are driving in a 40 mile per hour zone and the zone changes to a lower speed WITHOUT posted signs. This area is posted with speed reduction signs and then 35 mph signs. If you are still speeding...you are not paying attention to your driving and deserve the summons you get.
Recognized by whom? Law enforcement? I've never been stopped there and 35mph does seem appropriate. I only wish law enforcement spent more time at least warning people that are going 15-20mph under the speed limit on Victory Blvd and in the tunnels than ticketing people 7-10mph over on Wythe Creek Rd. The impeders are the ones causing traffic jams and accidents in this area.
This speed trap(s) mostly park in the dentist office, the white real estate office beside it, or Shady Oaks Mobile Home Park, right behind the bridge wall to be extra sneaky. You can mostly find these traps in the late night/early morning or rush hours.
