Englewood, Tennessee Speed Traps

My experience was exactly the same as many of the comments mentioned here. I was traveling northbound and simply didn’t see the 40 mph sign. I still had the cruise set for the 55 zone. The officer took his sweet time in writing the ticket.

Definitely a speed trap. $180 is ridiculous for this offense. It was a 4-lane road with no development. The 55mph zone started again within 1/4 of a mile from where I was pulled over.

I will never travel through Englewood again and will encourage everyone I know to avoid that area at all cost.

through the city – Speed Limit = 40mph

Some of the Hwy between Madisonville, TN and Englewood, TN is under construction and at lane shift points slower speeds would be OK. Except at lane shift points the road is in good condition and plenty safe for standard state wide 55mph limits. Part of hwy now good four lane is set at 40mph for the sole purpose of fee grabbing.

When Traveling on US Hwy 411 in Englewood Tenn. the speed limit is 45 mph and that is what it means. It is strictly enforced all the way through, so slow down. Also South of there in Benton Tenn. same thing.

IF your notrhbound, they will be in front of the old abandoned church just inside the city limit. if your southbound, the will be at the city limit sign just at the speed zone.
