Belton, Texas Speed Traps

Northbound and southbound on IH35 between Salado and just south of Bruceville-Eddie (Bell County) there is moderate to intense 24hr enforcement of the ridiculously low speed limit (65-70). Specifically in the hilly areas around exits 270-300. Be watching for troopers off to the side of the frontage roads at the tops and bottoms of the hills. They are using LIDAR which has almost instant speed reading. A laser detector will not save you since there won’t be enough time to slow down.

Everywhere in Belton especially bottom of hill on 13th Avenue. They park in the SummerFun Parking lot.

After mile 283 you will come to a hill on the horizon will be 282 and there’s a speed trap (bear trap) sitting on your right on a hill. Google maps 30.92006,-97.545784 . Good tax breaks for the small towns. Slow down before you hit the hills and your golden.

North bound traffic on I-35 will pass the Tuaya exit and head down hill. There used to be a bridge that has been long gone but the police sit behind a barrier sign with their radar. They catch speeders doing more than 70 mph and usually get them to exit the high way near the Bell County Expo Center exit.

Watch out for this speed trap… This is another one of those towns with more cops than citizens… The officers love to hide around a down-hill curve towards the right, southbound I-35, on the edge of an on-ramp.
