Carrizo Springs, Texas Speed Traps
Hwy 277 through town
This is a short section of Hwy about 1/2 mile long which goes through town. It is monitored for commercial truck traffic 24 hours a day. It’s enforced continuously by all law enforcement: (city, county, marshals, and constables).
If their goal was truly to eliminate truck traffic, they could install more prominent signs in place of the tiny loop bypass signs instead of hiring extra officers to write tickets night and day.
Highway 83 South @ Loop 225
At the curve where the location listed is, a city police vehicle sits there with a radar gun, giving out tickets like Halloween candy. At 7am as I roll in, there they are waiting, at lunch time, there they are prowling and at 4-5pm THERE THEY ARE MORE THAN LIKELY TICKETING SOMEONE. At least 85% of the time that I drive by, they have pulled someone over. PLEASE BE AWARE, THE CITY OF CARRIZO SPRINGS, TX IS BROKE! This is very common knowledge even with the oil field revenues they generated with hotel tax, sales taxes, etc, SOMETHING/SOMEONE mismanaged the coffers and NOW the TAXPAYER is getting punished thru this SPEED TRAP!!…I got pulled over and after I asked why I was pulled over, the cop said I was 11 miles over speed limit…I questioned her on it and she immediately stated that I could talk to the judge and have him lower it to the next fee level .. EYES OPEN! NO FEAR! BE SAFE!!!
