Clyde, Texas Speed Traps

From West to East on I-20 as you come over the hill towards marker 299 there is a small depression just big enough to make a pickup unseen. There are Clyde City Police working between marker 299 an 306 all the time. There are No less than 5 laws enforcement agency’s that are making bank working this section of the interstate. City-County- DPS- City Marshall- Task Force ect….

East bound, going thru small village, speed limit goes down to 30 for several blocks, then one small sign for 40 mph (which is not visable if you’re in the middle lane with another vehicle on yr right)..that 40 zone only goes one or two blocks (I’d say 500′ +-), then sign for 50 mph for next approx 1500 ‘, then sign for 70 mph (the Texas limit for most cars, most highways)..Officer is in a truck-like vehicle, not in uniform, and does not manually sign the ticket, nor will he discuss it or answer any question.

DPS Officer patrols the area heavily this county is just before you get Abilene. Be very Careful if you are out of State. Officer told me when I said I wasn’t speeding “Too bad you can’t fight it anyways””. Judge only accepts guilty and nolo contendere for out of state tickets. “
