Deer Park, Texas Speed Traps
Georgia Ave.
Georgia Ave. changes from 40 mph to 30 mph after crossing San Augustine. The street stays 2 lane in each direction. The cop hides in multiple locations waiting for unsuspecting motorists knowing that all continue the 40 mph flow of traffic.
225 Westbound Feeder Bypass near Just passed Center St. Street
Traveling on Westbound 225 feeder..I see Deer Park police in this area often.. Speed decreases from 50MPH TO 35MPH in front of the shell refining complex..right past Calpine Steam plant a cop sits on the entrance to the 225 on ramp..Slow down.
P Street near Center Street
This is P Street going into the high school from Center Street. The speed limit is 20, and if you are going even 25, you will get pulled over. I know of so many people who gets tickets right in that area, so be careful.
13th Street near Center Street
When traveling east on 13th street, approaching Center (the first major cross street) the speed limit abruptly drops from 40 to 30.
Someone I know was ticketed yesterday at that location, and when they’d finished their business with the officer, he pulled another one over for the same infraction.
Really, the speed limit signs shouldn’t drop from 40 to 30, but progress downward and with a lot more distance.
Be aware!
East Boulevard near State Highway 225
As your driving down East Blvd. towards the overpass to access 225, 2 cops are standing in the median with laser/radar guns flagging people down. You can’t see them as you are approaching the ramp, but just as you begin to go up you see them and it is too late. They pull multiple cars over at a time and are there on a regular basis.
