Diboll, Texas Speed Traps

Local Police work in pairs here. They constantly drive up and down Hwy. 59 within the city limits, then turn and work the other way. If they stop, they hide behind the Dairy Queen side of the road on the North and the Dollar Store parking lot on the South.

US Hwy 59. Diboll borders the town of Burke on the north. The posted speed limit is 55 mph through both towns. On occasion, Diboll PD has tried to enforce the speed limit in Burke as well because Burke does not have its own PD. The 55 mph stretch lasts for about 6 miles. Be very careful. I have seen the Diboll PD guard both city limit signs. They use Ka band radar. Use of a radar detector is advised. There are lots of signs and buildings for them to hide behind.

Diboll has long been a speedtrap on Interstate 59, North & Southbound lanes. We recently ate at the DQ and saw at least four traffic stops by a very determined police officer. I was surprised when I did not see Diboll listed on this site. Be careful and go the posted speed in Diboll.
