Ennis, Texas Speed Traps
Buc-ees Gas Station at I-45 North and South, Creechville Rd.
Ennis PD cruiser is always stationed at the Buc-ees gas station on I45. Watch your speed on the highway and service roads northbound and southbound.
I-45 near the Exxon at Exit 255
A cop is often tagging the northbound I-45 traffic sitting in the parking lot of the Exxon or sitting at the exit ramp itself. Ennis seems to have by far the most speed traps I’ve seen along I-45 from Houston to Dallas, particularly between Exit 250 and 255.
Highway 287 West of Ennis
For no particular reason the speed limit changes from 65 to 55 and then there is a rise, on a curve. As you top the rise there lurks the deputy with his radar gun. By the time you can stop, there is a sign in view that says 65 mph. It’s a natural trap they’ve zoned slower. If you’re going to Arlington or FT. Worth take I45 and I20. But watch out because Ennis has a pice of I45 as well. In fact, North of Corsicana, stay under the limits (60, 65) all the way to Dallas. Down Houston way, the limit’s 75 and they don’t much play "Gotcha" with it..
Tabernacle Church
On the winding road passing in front of Tabernacle Church on the way to Kawanis park, police hide in the parking lot trying to catch people because the speed limit sign is hard to see coming around the bend. the speed limit is 30 I believe. They are there almost every night.
in the Sokol Parking lot
There are usually cops waiting in the parking lot pointing towards 34 just waiting and some have been known to hide behind the recycling bins
